The Ichiju-Sansai Meal: A Classic Japanese Everyday Dining Style
What we offer
In Japan, there is a concept called Ichiju Sansai (one soup and three dishes), which represents the fundamental structure of a well-balanced meal. A traditional Japanese breakfast perfectly embodies this idea. In this class, you’ll learn how to prepare a basic Japanese set meal inspired by this concept. To help you experience a wider range of Japanese flavors and cooking techniques, we’ll make two main dishes — Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) and Teriyaki fish — along with Dashimaki Tamago (Japanese rolled omelette), a seasonal vegetable side dish, miso soup, and rice. By the end of the session, you’ll feel confident recreating these iconic Japanese dishes in your own kitchen — and impressing your friends and family! What You’ll Learn - How to plan a balanced Japanese-style menu - How to cook rice in a pot - How to prepare dashi broth (Japanese soup stock) - How to use dashi in miso soup and side dishes - How to make simple, everyday Japanese side dishes - The basics of Japanese table setting ---This Class Includes--- 1.
